CLOSE YOUR EYES has sat down with ELLE Korea for an interview!
through the survival program “PROJECT 7,”; CLOSE YOUR EYES consists of the seven membersJeon Minwook,Ma Jingxiang, Jang Yeojun, Kim Sungmin, Song Seungho, Kenshin, and Seo Kyoungbae. The group with their first mini album “ETERNALT”; on April 2 and is currently on their first .
First of all, leader Jeon Minwook shared that one of the strengths of CLOSE YOUR EYES is the members’ visuals. He added, “It was when we were filming the music video for our comeback album. Seungho was hurriedly changing outfits and his hair was all messy, but even in that moment, I couldn’t help but think he looked really handsome.”;
When asked what made him dream of becoming a K-pop artist, Song Seungho answered, “About two years ago, my older brother brought me to Seoul, saying he’d buy me something delicious, but it turned out he was actually taking me to an agency’s audition. Luckily, I passed and started my life as a trainee. As I kept going, I found myself wanting to get even better. I ended up dropping out of school to focus on training, and that’s how I got to where I am now.”;
When Kenshin was ask the question, “What do you think you inherited from your musician father?”; he said, “There was always music in our home. I naturally found myself moving to the rhythm. Maybe that’s why I tend to pick up choreography quickly. When I came to Korea, my father was very supportive as well. I could tell he was worried since I was still young, but he trusted me completely.”;
The team’s youngest member Seo Kyoungbae shared that he thinks he is the best at sports among the members. He commented, “Aside from idol activities, I’m happiest when I’m playing sports—especially ball sports. Before I became a trainee, I played volleyball for a long time, and I love the thrill of winning a match or making a decisive play.”;
The team’s dancing machine Jang Yeojun was asked the question, “If you could dance to just one song, which one comes to mind?”; He said, “From our debut album, I’d choose ‘To The Woods.’ Unlike the other tracks, it has a sexy vibe to it.”;
When asked what is something he would like to try someday, Kim Sungmin mentioned that he would like to produce CLOSE YOUR EYES clothing merchandise. He added, “I want to create a design that not only our fans but anyone could wear and look great in.”;
Last but not least, Ma Jingxiang who showcased a new side of himself by dyeing his hair blonde said that his go-to style in the summer is sleeveless tops. He laughed as he explained, “The main point is showing off my shoulders.”;
CLOSE YOUR EYES also confirmed plans for a July comeback, with Jang Yeojun sharing, “Before our debut, I was really eager to get on stage as soon as possible and was extremely curious about how the public would react. But now, I feel a strong sense that we need to show how much we’ve grown.”;
Ma Jingxiang teased their comeback, saying, “The choreography for our debut album was great, but this time it’s even cooler. It’s also that much more difficult—the tempo is faster, too.”; When asked what came to his mind when he first heard the songs from the new album, he commented, “Christmas. Because the album is being released in the summer, a midsummer’s Christmas!”;
