Chelsea takes final decision on signing Maignan as two goalkeepers set to leave club

Published on June 22, 2025 at 03:52 PM

Chelsea have finally decided not to sign goalkeeper, Mike Maignan from AC Milan this summer transfer window.

According to Sky Sports News, the Maignan chapter is closed for Chelsea as the Blues currently have four goalkeepers – Robert Sanchez, Filip Jorgensen, Djordje Petrovic and Mike Penders.

The report added that two goalkeepers will leave Chelsea this summer in search for a regular playing game-time.

One of the goalkeepers will go on loan to French Ligue 1 side Strasbourg and another one will be sold this summer.

Chelsea were offered Maignan but walked away from a potential deal before the first window of the summer.

The Premier League west London club did not make a bid for the France international.

However, as things stand there is only a small chance they will sign another goalkeeper for their manager, Enzo Maresca this summer.
