THOUSANDS of Chelsea fans continue to experience problems with the new electronic ticketing system at Stamford Bridge this season, SunSport has been exclusively told.
On the first league game of the season at Stamford Bridge, many fans were left fuming after long queues caused by faults with the club’s new in-app e-ticketing system meant they arrived late into the stadium.

All will be required to use digital tickets starting next season.
Most have already begun implementing the system this season to ensure they’re ahead of the curve, including Chelsea.
However, the system continues to face challenges with tickets disappearing on the app.
Some fans have reached out to SunSport, explaining that their tickets for the game have vanished from their app after initially appearing.
This is something they’ve contacted the club about, with Chelsea promising to sort it out in the coming week, in time for the next home game.
One of the reasons the Premier League decided to go electronic was to cut long queues, stop ticket touting, and make it harder for tickets to be resold, allowing clubs to retrieve and sell tickets on a game-by-game basis.
SunSport understands that Chelsea’s system is highly detailed and the problems have come as a surprise, leaving fans feeling anxious ahead of the next home game.
As part of the transition to fully electronic tickets, the club has closed most phone box offices and is pushing for everything to be handled online.
However, this has meant that many fans are unable to get in-person or phone-based explanations of what is going on.
This situation has left many furious and anxious.
When SunSport contacted Chelsea, the club confirmed that there was a glitch.
Nerissa Chesterfield of Chelsea’s Corporate Communications said: “We are aware of the glitch and are working on it.
“Fans have been told that the tickets will appear on their app on Monday and the QR code will be activated on Thursday.”
Ahead of the Crystal Palace game earlier in the season, fans were warned to arrive early as Stamford Bridge “beds in” the new ticketing method for their Premier League opener against Crystal Palace.
The system was already blasted as an “absolute shambles” as Blues’ fans waited outside the Bridge, hoping for a “special unveiling” at 1pm.
The unveiling turned out to simply be a large banner declaring the team as world champions.

She said: “No one’s tickets are working, absolute shambles to say the least.”
One supporter who paid as much as £230 for a ticket was told his ticket is invalid and was stuck outside the ground as the club looked to resolve the issue.
