CHELSEA swept Manchester United aside 2-0 at Stamford Bridge to leave Michael Carrick on the brink of the sack.

United thought they had taken the lead in the first half when Mateus Cunha poked in from close range and celebrated wildly – but the flag was up for offside.

But after a slow first half, Chelsea hit back in the second half to lead through Morgan Rogers’ classy solo finish.

United – guilty of missing a number of big chances in the first half – imploded after the break as Lisandro Martinez conceded a penalty for a shove on Wesley Fofana.

The Argentine was also shown a second yellow just 84 seconds after his first to compound United’s woes and Cole Palmer slotted home the resulting spot kick.

Estevao smashed in a third before it was ruled out for a marginal offside and Bryan Mbeumo later crashed a volley off the woodwork.
