CAROL Kirkwood is already being lined up for a huge star-studded reality show after quitting BBC Breakfast, say bookies.

Today the much-loved presenter, 63, revealed after joining in 1998.

Now, less than 24 hours since , is already being tipped to take part in famous reality show.

According to Casino Beats the Scottish presenter has odds of 9/1 to appear on the next series of Celebrity Traitors.

The BBC show, hosted by , was hugely popular last year, and attracted big stars who have huge followings, making Carol perfect.

The weather presenter has also been given odds of 8/1 that she will head to the jungle for ‘s I’m A Celebrity.

Casino Beats spokesman Ollie Ring: “Carol Kirkwood’s departure from the BBC has prompted speculation of what’s next for the iconic Scottish presenter, with an appearance on Celebrity Traitors seemingly on the cards.

“Carol will feel at home in the Scottish Highlands and is 9/1 to appear in the Celebrity Traitors castle later this year.

“A stint in the I’m A Celebrity jungle also can’t be ruled out now that her weekdays have become freer.”

TEARS OVER BREAKFAST

Carol, who will say goodbye to the Beeb in April, shocked fans when this morning.

Speaking about her decision to leave with her colleagues and , the emotional presenter said: “So, I’m going to be leaving – and it’s really hard, really hard for me to say this because I love my job.

“I love all of you guys and my weather colleagues and of course all the viewers.

“I’ve been so engaged with for many years…but it’s great.

“I don’t want to be coming in in my Zimmer frame and saying, “I can’t reach the Northern Isles anymore!”.’

The star explained how she planned to spend more time with her in 2023.

She said: “We only got married a couple of years ago and we’re ships that pass in the night so I’m so looking forward to doing that.”

“She will be greatly missed by teams across the BBC. We wish her all the best for the future.”

Addressing fans, she said: “It’s been an absolute privilege to bring you the weather every day.

“My job is something I’ve never taken for granted and I’ve loved every minute! From early starts and all manner of forecasts, I’ve shared it with incredible colleagues at BBC Breakfast, BBC Weather and programmes across the BBC.

“I’d like to thank them for their support and friendship which has meant the world.

“And to those watching and listening at home – thank you for all the kindness you have shown me over the years, being part of your mornings has been a joy.

“This hasn’t been an easy decision to make, but it feels like the right moment to step away.

“I’ll carry with me the most wonderful memories.”

The BBC also released their own statement, where they said that would be “greatly missed”.

“Carol’s contribution to BBC News and BBC Weather has been exceptional. From major national moments to the everyday forecasts that are such an important part of our audiences’ lives, she has set the gold standard for our accurate, valued journalism – always delivered with an appropriately sunny outlook,” the broadcaster said.

“She will be greatly missed by teams across the BBC. We wish her all the best for the future.”

As Carol reveals she has quit the BBC, here we take a look at her incredible career.

Carol learnt her craft after undertaking meteorological training at The Weather Channel, the Met Office and the BBC, before joining the BBC Weather Centre in April 1998.

She began broadcasting on the BBC News channel and soon added and all other BBC outlets that feature weather.

Since 2010, Carol has been the main weather presenter on BBC Breakfast.

Her regular outside broadcasts include the Chelsea Flower Show, Royal Ascot and royal events.

In recent years, she has also become an accomplished author, publishing four novels to date.
