THIS is the terrifying moment a massive cargo ship ploughs into a fishing boat near Singapore.
Dramatic footage shows the 750ft Panamanian-flagged vessel drift off course and collide with the small boat.
The enormous bulk carrier can be seen moving towards the fishing boat from behind.
Terrified fishermen are heard shouting moments before a forceful impact tilts the ship on its side, submerging part of the deck.
Debris can be seen strewn across the sea as some crew members scramble to stay afloat.
Another angle shows some fishermen desperately hanging on to the railings as the ship reaches an almost vertical tilt.
The vessel is seen listing at a 45 degree angle, struggling to stay afloat due to the damage.
It is unclear if the fishing boat made it safely to shore or sank.
The horror crash unfolded near the Strait, one of the busiest maritime routes in the world, on Sunday.
The size difference between the ships is striking, with the cargo ship capable of carrying more than 82,000 tonnes of freight measuring 750ft long, compared to the fishing boat’s 160ft length.
There has been no confirmation of casualties so far.
A statement about the incident has not yet been issued by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.
The cause of the collision or responsibility of each vessel is yet to be determined.
When a probe is launched, investigators will trawl through navigation records, tracking data and crew testimonies.
It comes two days after shocking footage showed a Chinese warship rammed into a Filipino fishing vessel in the disputed South China Sea.
Wild footage showed the vessel deliberately charging towards the Philippine government boat on a mission to resupply fuel to fishermen.
The collision lasts for around 30 seconds, with the Filipino ship shaking violently from the force.
It is eventually spun nearly 90 degrees, before the two boats finally separated.
A different angle taken by the Filipino sailors shows the Chinese ship harassing the boat’s stern as a crew member frantically shouts “collision”.
China has since claimed that the Philippine vessel “bears full responsibility for the incident”.
The collision took place near a shoal in the disputed Spratly Islands chain, a fish-rich flashpoint that has been the site of violent confrontations with China Coast Guard vessels in recent years.
Beijing claims most of the South China Sea despite an international ruling that its assertion has no legal basis.
