Cameron Menzies Faces Suspended Ban and Fine After Table-Punching Outburst at World Darts Championship

CAMERON MENZIES was fined £2,500 and received a suspended ban after he repeatedly punched a table at Ally Pally.

The Scot, 37, cut his hand when he on stage following his 3-2 first-round exit to bricklayer Charlie Manby in December during the first round of the PDC World Darts Championship.

The incident went viral and he required an emergency trip to hospital after blood poured from his damaged knuckles.

The Darts Regulation Authority – who finally published its full list of fines for 2023-26 after a three-year hiatus – slapped him with a £2,500 fine following a hearing on January 19.

And the sport’s disciplinary arm gave him a four-month suspension, which has been suspended until July 23, 2027.

Should he breach the DRA code again over the next year, then he could face a potential ban from the sport.

Menzies, a former plumber, earned £15,000 for playing in the first round of the flagship tournament in North London.

But he has managed to put aside that outburst this year by progressing to 26th on the PDC world ranking and notably reaching the semi-finals of the PDC World Cup of Darts in Team Scotland colours.

Gary Anderson, the two-time world darts champion, was fined £3,000 – of which £1,000 is suspended until September 2026 – after he was found to have demonstrated “aggressive and abusive behaviour” during the 2025 World Matchplay in .

, a five-time champion of the world, was given a formal warning for “failing to report damage caused to hotel room” at a Players Championship event in Germany in May 2025.

was fined £500 for “making (an) offensive gesture” during the 2024-25 PDC World Championship – which was caught on TV – and given a “formal warning as to future behaviour”.

Recklessly throwing away a dart, failing to mark and using offensive language can trigger fines that range between £100-£500.

One of the biggest punishments was the £1,000 fine given to for failing to complete a match and comments on social media during a Pro Tour event on February 12, 2024.

One other notable sanction saw amateur John Morris receive a six-month ban suspended until September 2026 for “possession of (a) class A drug” at an ADC Vault event in March.
