Senator Titus Zam of Benue North-West has berated Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central for her continuing clash with Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Daily Post gathered that Zam confronted Akpoti-Uduaghan on the Northern Senators Forum WhatsApp group earlier this week, accusing her of courting needless publicity.

According Sahara Reporters addressing her in the group chat, he wrote, “Why do you wish to be in the news for the wrong reason?

“I thought by now you would be sober and engaging instead of resorting to needless altercations with the system.

“Recall that the Senate president administered the oath of office to you as the head of the institution you belong to.

“Calm down; you can’t subdue this institution.”

The Benue lawmaker urged his Kogi counterpart to be more measured and constructive rather than stirring fresh confrontations.

DAILY POST recalls that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s six-month suspension, which began in March, technically lapsed in September. Yet a letter dated September 4 and signed by Acting Clerk to the National Assembly, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, explained that her reinstatement remains sub judice until the courts conclude the matter.

Akpoti-Uduaghan had earlier written to the Clerk on August 28 to notify the Senate of the expiration of her suspension period.
