Rivers United's technical adviser, Finidi George, has responded to his team's defeat against Pyramids FC, as reported by DAILY POST.

The defending champions suffered a heavy loss of 3-0 in a CAF Champions League Group A match held at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo on Saturday night.

Rivers United managed to hold their opponents in the first half, but they struggled in the second half.

Ahmed Atef El Sayed netted all three goals for the home side.

Finidi attributed the loss to mistakes and ineffective finishing by his team.

“We played well, but our final touch was lacking,” Finidi stated.

“We performed effectively in the first half, but in the second half, their first goal resulted from a mistake by our defender. If you allow a team like this to score, they will gain confidence, leading to their second goal, and at that point, the game was effectively over.”
