MANCHESTER UNITED captain Bruno Fernandes surprised fans when he was spotted doing something particularly unusual in Portugal.

Fernandes, 31, jetted back home following which ended interim manager Michal Carrick’s four-match winning streak.

The playmaker was at the stands of Estadio Capital do Movel watching hosts Pacos Ferreira draw 0-0 with Torreense.

The Portugal international was seen covered in a green blanket and surrounded by family during a cold evening in Porto.

According to SportTV , Fernandes was there to cheer his friend and Pacos star Francisco Ramos.

The star and Ramos go way back as they shared a dressing room in Portugal’s youth teams.

The midfielder discussed his friendship with Fernandes at full-time and described him as someone who is “always special”.

Ramos said: “He is always special. He is someone connected to me and my family.

“In addition, it is always special to have a figure of this from our football watching us.

“He values Portuguese football, he values Pacos de Ferreira and I’m happy to have him close.”
