“The first question I asked my wife was, ‘Look, we have this offer from Saudi Arabia.’
“Her immediate response was, ‘Have you accomplished everything you wanted to at the club?’ Because she understands that I haven’t.
“When I mention that I haven’t realized my dreams at this club, it’s largely influenced by her words.
“And obviously, I’m uncertain, and she’s uncertain about whether I will achieve them. But if I don’t try, I can be sure I won’t succeed.”
This season, Fernandes has netted two goals and provided one assist in nine appearances.
