BRITISH Airways is keeping a Boeing 777 flying — even though almost half its toilets are broken.
Passengers are having to queue for the loo at 30,000ft because four washrooms are locked.
Only two are working for the 84 First and Club passengers while the 170 in World Traveller class have to share three.
The plane, which does regular 11-hour flights from to worldwide destinations including the US and India, also has no wifi.
In the next few days it has been scheduled to fly to and from the UK, New York, and .
Passengers are not told of the problems before booking flights but get a scripted apology on landing.
One crew member said: “It’s unacceptable.
“Why are we hoodwinking passengers this way?”
Another said: “Staff are in the frontline of passengers’ upset at having splashed out on premium fares only to be offered a service that you’d be disgusted to experience on a cheap, no-frills’ carrier.”
said it had apologised to affected customers and “offered a gesture to help put things right”.
Sources said it hopes to repair the problem plane “in the next few days”.
