A BRITISH tourist has reportedly died in a horror parasailing accident in Benidorm while on holiday with her husband.
The 66-year-old is said to have crashed onto rocks after a powerful gust of wind caused the line tethering her parachute to the boat to snap.
The woman went into cardiac arrest, but desperate efforts to revive her after she was taken to Benidorm Port proved unsuccessful.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was not immediately clear whether the unnamed holidaymaker’s husband was injured in the ordeal.
The tragedy unfolded at around 6pm today after a sudden change in conditions.
A red flag was raised, warning holidaymakers at the famous Costa Blanca resort.
Witnesses described scenes of anguish as the parasail spiralled out of control.
After the line snapped, the couple hurtled towards jagged rocks as they were left at the mercy of the wind.
One witness said: “It was clear they were going to crash.”
A investigation has been launched and remains ongoing.
