At one stage it was uncertain whether or not she would survive, but has praised her family and life-saving doctor for fighting for her “24/7”.

Sharing a smiley picture from inside a hospital, Holly wrote on Instagram: “So it turns out I’m not invincible. In December I suddenly became critically ill, was rushed into hospital, and placed into a coma. I experienced extreme brain swelling and it was uncertain if I’d wake up again, but I was lucky enough to have a badass doctor and my incredible family by my side 24/7 fighting for me.

“When I woke up, I had to relearn to walk and use my hands again. It’s been the hardest and scariest thing that’s ever happened to me, and I’m so grateful to be here today.

“I’m now out of the hospital but still slowly recovering. I won’t be posting every day just yet, but I wanted to come back and let you know that I’m okay.”

Addressing the support from fans she’s received over the past three months, she continued: “I missed you all so much and I’m insanely thankful for all of the love you’ve given me while I’ve been gone, it truly means the world to me.

“This experience has given me a whole new love for my life, my family, my friends, and the wonderful world we live in.

“Go do everything that makes you smile. Life is so damn precious.”

X Factor winner commented: “Holly!! [love heart emojis] sending you so much love!”

Fellow online creator Mum said: “Sending you and the family so much love & get well wishes holly [love heart emoji].”

The health update is the only post from Holly’s account since a message to reassure fans she was being looked after properly before Christmas.

Her team said at the time: “We know how much she cares about you all, so we wanted to reassure everyone that she is getting the care that she needs.

“Holly would like to wish you a Happy Christmas, enjoy the time with your family and friends and give each other an extra tight hug. She also wishes you all a happy, healthy 2026.”

The creative powerhouse from Guernsey turned to social media platforms like Vine and Musical.ly as a teen as a way of helping with anxiety.

She’s since collaborated with huge brands like Coca-Cola, D&G, and Amazon and last year released two singles: Tokyo and I Should Run.

Her rise to fame has taken her by surprise and she’s still not sure why so many people follow her.

Speaking of the highlights of being an online celeb, Holly told Music Week : “I’ve had some amazing opportunities through TikTok. I hosted backstage at the BRITs, I’ve been on Capital Radio and did livestreams with J Balvin and Ellie Goulding.

Selena Gomez did a private screening of her Rare album before it came out and that was a really surreal experience. She was asking for our feedback and it was like, ‘So, values our opinion on her music? That’s crazy’. I can’t get my head around it.”

Holly has also filmed episodes of kids TV shows Blue Peter and Horrible Histories as well as MTV‘s iconic house viewing show, Cribs.
