FANS joked Brighton’s kit looked like a ‘golf shirt’ for their home clash against Arsenal on Saturday.

The Seagulls hosted the Premier League champions at the Amex for their 3pm kick-off but it was their strange-looking shirt that raised eyebrows.

Brighton wore a collared pale blue shirt featuring a stripped back design with the logos and sponsors faded.

The unusual retro design left some fans baffled as they claimed it looked more like something you’d see on a golf course.

The shirt was actually a nod to Brighton’s past to celebrate the club’s 125-year anniversary.

But fans were still perplexed as one wrote on X: “I was wondering if Brighton had come straight from the golf course for the game today.”

Another added: “This Brighton jersey looks like a solid golf shirt lmao what is this?”

A third said: “This Brighton kit is no different than a golf polo.”

Arsenal quickly found themselves 2-0 down thanks to goals from Pascal Gross and .

And ‘s team were stunned when Chema Andres made it three.

Arsenal supporters played on the golf jokes as they cursed their luck.

One added: “Are we gonna get done in by Brighton in golf shirts? What are Arsenal playing here.”

A second joked: “Nice of Brighton to postpone their round of golf to beat Arsenal.”

Brighton have enjoyed an impressive start to the season under boss .

They opened with a 4-0 thrashing of before losing narrowly to 4-3.

They then drew to Leeds before thumping Coventry 5-0 and getting a 3-2 win at in the from 2-0 down.

Brighton’s quick start came against a solid Arsenal team that had only conceded one Prem goal in four games.
