A SEVEN-year-old boy has died in hospital after a teen and her mum were killed when the tide reportedly swept them away.

They were among a group of five relatives caught up in the horror at , on the evening of July 22.
It is understood that the mother and daughter sprang into action in an effort to from the tide when they got into difficulty themselves.
Tragically, the seven-year-old – who was in a coma – has now died, despite the best efforts of medics, Essex Police confirmed.
In a statement, the boy’s family said: “We would also like to thank the Royal London Hospital intensive care unit team of doctors and nurses who demonstrated outstanding care and dignity for whilst we have been at the hospital.
“We would also like to thank the whole community for their support and prayers.
“We would appreciate privacy during this very difficult time.”

, 49, previously told The Sun he was still suffering from shock and is “fighting to overcome” the tragedy.
He added: “I lost my daughter I lost my wife. Please pray for them.”
A source told The Sun how the grandmother of Sameeha watched her get dragged out by the tide.
They said: “The grandmother watched as she lost her daughter and her granddaughter in front of her eyes.
“She was completely helpless. She has not stopped crying since it happened.”
Witnesses described how a young child got in trouble while playing with an inflatable close to a sandbank.
Locals said the tide came in “very quickly” before disaster struck on the packed out beach.
Cops and coastguard crews were scrambled to at around 5.30pm, with a seven-year-old reportedly in a coma after being rushed to hospital.
The 41-year-old mum and her teen daughter reportedly entered the water to save the youngster before the “nightmare” unfolded.

An eyewitness said: “The tide was a lot further in than it is now and that sandbank, they were on there and the tide came in.
“You have to be careful. It comes in very quickly. That was quite alarming, for a small place like this, I think that’s why so many people are shocked.”
Another added: “There are dangerous rip tides here and it looked like the people in trouble were on the sandbank. The water comes in so fast.
“Lots of people ran to help. It was awful, I am still traumatised by it. Everyone did what they could.
“It was like a nightmare on what had be a wonderful day. People were shouting and crying. It was just horrendous.”
Local retiree Stephen Vince, 74, said: “Everyone is so shocked. We have been pushing the council for better safety measures here for years.
“Another person died here two or three years ago. He went to rescue his son. The man survived but he drowned.

“Even before then we tried to get rafts to keep people safer and towards the shore.”
The is being led by Detective Chief Inspector Al Pitcher, who said: “All our thoughts are with the family and friends of those involved – as has been the case since this incident took place last week.
“Their bravery and strength has been humbling.
“We continue to build a complete picture of the circumstances which led up to this incident and our work is continuing alongside our partners.”
Essex have asked anyone who was in the area at the time and has information or footage which could assist their investigation to contact them on 101 and quote incident 1090 of 22 July.
