A FOUR-year-old boy has died after a car and an off-road bike were involved in a horror crash.
The emergency services were called to Churchill Drive in Newark, , at around 6pm on Sunday, following reports of a collision.
The boy, who was a passenger on the off-road bike, was declared dead at the scene.
A 24-year-old man, who was also on the bike, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
He has also been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire said in a statement the driver of the car “remained at the scene and gave an account to police”, while an has found the bike “had moments earlier been seen travelling in convoy with a second bike, whose rider left the scene prior to officers’ arrival”.
Cops also arrested a 32-year-old man on Monday on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with any information or footage to get in touch.
Det Insp Jamie Moore said: “This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the boy’s loved ones at this incredibly distressing time.”
