BOURNEMOUTH teammates Tyler Adams and Adam Smith were involved in a distressing collision at Villa Park.

Not even four minutes had passed when the Cherries duo collided in mid-air during their Premier League match against Aston Villa.

Both players immediately fell to the ground, prompting concern from teammates on both sides.

The game was paused for several minutes as medical personnel rushed onto the field.

Villa Park erupted in applause when Adams and Smith both managed to get back on their feet.

However, Adams was a troubling sight as blood streamed from a head injury.

The full-back received further evaluation on the sidelines, but the medical team determined he was unfit to continue, leading to his substitution by Alex Jimenez in the 10th minute.

Despite appearing disoriented while getting back up, American international Adams was initially allowed to continue playing.
