An airport worker was standing on a ramp attached to the plane and another was just a few feet from the cockpit as it crashed to the ground, leading to the flight being cancelled.

Both narrowly escaped being hit by the Boeing as the incident unfolded, and were shown rushing away from the scene.

Passengers were lining up to board the flight, headed from the German city to – an 11-hour journey.

The bridge was already attached, indicating that people were due to take their seats imminently.

Flightradar24, which was the first to circulate the video, wrote: “Following a gear collapse at the gate in Frankfurt, Lufthansa 787-9 D-ABPQ has been significantly damaged.

“Today’s LH450 has been cancelled.”

A Lufthansa spokesperson revealed that several employees were injured and are currently receiving medical treatment.

“The aircraft’s nose landing gear unexpectedly folded in as it was parked,” a Lufthansa spokesperson told dpa.

Crew and ground staff were on board at the time of the incident, they added.

The exact circumstances of the crash are being investigated by relevant authorities. Technicians and emergency personnel are on site.

A similar crash also took place during preparation for a cargo flight from Heathrow to Frankfurt in 2021.

The nose of a Boeing 787-8 (G-ZBJB) struck the ground, causing significant damage to the front.

It was just last month that The Sun reported on a video showing the final seconds of as its engine teared away from the wing just after takeoff.

The jet crashed in Louisville, Kentucky, on November 4, 2025, killing 15 people.

The Boeing MD-11F had just taken off from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport when .

Newly released surveillance footage shown by the National Transportation Safety Board captured the horrifying moment the engine detached.

The video shows the left engine and its pylon breaking away from the wing seconds after rotation.
