BIRMINGHAM CITY’s plans for constructing a new stadium have sparked a wave of mocking remarks from rival supporters.

Even fans of the Blues themselves have been surprised by certain aspects of the images released online on Thursday.

The club has shared concept images of what is to come.

The stadium blueprints are described as a “statement of intent for the club and the West Midlands, showcasing a region that is on the rise.”

However, the presence of numerous chimneys—a nod to the area's history—has led many to mock the designs.

One online user commented: “It looks like Willy Wonka designed a power plant.”

Another added: “Guys, leave some chimneys for the rest of us.”

Someone else remarked that “[It] Looks like a quidditch pitch.”

Social media users continued to post jests, with the self-designated name “The Powerhouse” being referred to as a “bouncy castle.”

It was also likened to the “Battersea Power Station of the Midlands.”

The Willy Wonka theme was reiterated by a Wolves fan, who stated it “meets the Black Country museum.”

One person even took it further, asking if Birmingham would be “playing with a chimney sweeper?”

Among the various images of the stadium, 12 massive chimney structures can be seen towering over the ground.

Written on one side is the club’s motto: “Keep right on.”

The stadium has been designed by Heatherwick Studio in collaboration with MANICA Architecture.

Blues fans have ambitious plans for it to be completed by 2030.

Jude Bellingham and a minority investor were part of the unveiling, but that did not prevent fans from seizing the opportunity to poke fun at the stadium's unique appearance.
