Birkenstocks Launch Bridal Collection: Love Them or Hate Them? Would You Wear a Pair?

BIRKENSTOCK has divided opinion with a new BRIDAL range, featuring white, pearl-encrusted versions of the cult favourite shoes.

While the company is most well known for its , which come with cork footbeds, they’re venturing into new territory with a new capsule collection.

Bridal designer Danielle Frankel is behind the collaboration, which drops on her website and select retailers on February 12, and comes in sizes from a 3 to an 8.

Options include the Arizona sandal, £705, the lacy £550 Madrid sliders, the Tulum cross over sandal and the bespoke Boston clog, which would set you back a whopping £1,477.

“We’re seeing our customers rethink the way they approach weddings – leaning into something more undone and less traditionally polished, while maintaining the significance of the event,” designer Danielle told Highsnobiety of the collab.

“This collaboration with Birkenstock was built in direct response to those shifts, capturing the tension we find so compelling right now: pieces that feel relaxed and easy while feeling elevated and intentional.”

Danielle, who founded her eponymous brand back in 2017, added that she’s long been a fan of Birkenstock.

“My entire family owns multiple pairs that we wear year-round,” she told Women’s Wear Daily.

“This partnership is rooted in my true admiration for the Birkenstock brand and product.

“Its heritage and consistent commitment to craftsmanship is inspirational for me professionally in how we try to shape Danielle Frankel as a brand.”

The Boston is arguably the most recognisable as a Birkenstock, with the clog style a viral favourite among social media users.

But the pricey bridal version instead comes in an “ivory pearlised finish leather with powder coated ivory buckle”.

It’s also covered in floral details hand painted in France, while the main shoe was hand crafted in Germany.

“We see these pieces fitting into any part of a wedding, and like to think that this collection can act as a lasting keepsake that’s worn well beyond the celebration,” Danielle concluded.

And while the shoes are undoubtedly beautiful, the concept of wearing a Birk as a bride has divided opinion.

TikToker Talia took to the social media site to ask for opinions about the new shoe range, as she began: “Would you wear Birkenstocks to your wedding?”

And the comments section was immediately filled, with people embarking on a fierce debate with their remarks.

“NO. Absolutely not,” one raged.

“A former friend of mine wore Birkenstocks to her wedding. Emphasis on FORMER,” another added.

“Noooo don’t go to the dark side,” a third wrote.

“No, but they would definitely be coming on the honeymoon!” someone else said.

However, there were also those who insisted they would “absolutely” don the shoes for their nuptials.

“So tired of following social rules,” one wrote.

“Ladies, if you’re not hurting anyone, which I know you aren’t, do whatever the F you want!!”

“Omg yes, I wish these existed when I got married to wear to my reception!” another added.

“Absolutely,” a third agreed. “Better than being in pain or barefoot!”

“Ok but hear me out… this could be ICONIC,” someone else insisted.
