MANCHESTER CITY flop Benjamin Mendy has flogged his World Cup winners’ trophy in a desperate bid to raise cash.
The left-back, 32, got his hands on football’s biggest prize when in 2018.

But Mendy’s finances took a huge hit as he fought to be .
And the ex-City man has now sold his replica of the World Cup trophy for £46,270.
Mendy, who also on his Cheshire mansion in an attempt to avoid bankruptcy three years ago, put his prized possession up for sale through auctioneers Goldin.
The coveted item, which went under the hammer as part of the USA-based sports memorabilia specialists’ Global Football Auction Part Two, attracted a whopping 38 bids.
And the lucky winner also bagged a certificate signed by Mendy confirming the sparkling trophy – described as damaged due to a crack at the base and signs of wear – was genuine.
The defender made one substitute appearance as France won the for a second time.
Every member of the squad notched a replica of the famous trophy to add to their own personal collection.
But it emerged a matter of months ago that Mendy in Poland after his wages have been slashed following his Etihad Stadium exit.

Having been on a contract which allowed him to pocket an eye-watering £500,000-per-month at City, he now earns just £10,000 every four weeks at Polish side Pogon Szczecin.
Mendy sold houses, supercars and designer watches for as he fought to clear his name in court.
The former Marseille and Monaco man faced two trials before being cleared of eight counts of rape, attempted rape and sexual assault in July 2023.
And Mendy then against City as he pushed for more than £11m in unpaid wages.
It was decided the Premier League giants had wrongly blocked his pay for 17 months while facing rape charges.
