Benidorm Celebrates as England and Spain Fans Unite to Toast Argentina's World Cup Final Defeat!

IT’S no surprise that the streets of Spain were party central after they won the World Cup final with a 1-0 extra-time win over Argentina.

But Spaniards may have been mildly surprised to see themselves flanked by English fans, too.

Why? United in their disdain for Argentina in this tournament, of course!

Benidorm, a famous holiday hotspot for Brits, saw both Spanish and English fans united in the sweet victory of not who won the World Cup, but who didn’t.

Videos have been posted online of the fans singing in unison “f*** Argentina” in the streets.

And unlike the match itself, the Spanish press reported that the Benidorm streets celebrated in a state of euphoria without any serious incidents at all.

On the pitch, that was not the case.

Leandro Paredes was sent off after the final whistle for attacking Gavi among others.

Footage has also emerged of Nahuel Molina punching Rodri in the stomach at the game’s climax.

Both are strong examples of the kind of behaviour that has led to what appears to be universal disdain for the Argentina team and their thuggish tactics.

There was already a feeling that Lionel Messi and co. might be feeling the benefit of Fifa’s affection throughout the tournament.

Nobody completed more fouls without a yellow card than Argentina at this tournament and many believe they were very lucky to get past Egypt in the round of 16.

But their aggression and dark arts went up a notch as soon as they faced England and it only got worse against Spain.

Still, Spain managed to win their second World Cup and, potentially, Messi’s fairytale is coming to an end at 39.
