THE BBC has made a major change to its World Cup coverage for the first time in history.
The broadcaster is taking drastic cost-cutting measures for the tournament that will be played across the US, and .

The has usually taken full teams of pundits and former players to World Cups in the past.
The Times has claimed that the 2026 edition will be different with not all being given the chance to jet off across the Atlantic Ocean.
The report claims that the BBC have told some of the people who have been offered roles that they may not be making the journey.
The broadcaster is planning to have some pundits cover matches live from .
But for some, they will be based in Salford and cover the matches from a TV feed at the BBC head office.
The report suggested it is the first time that the BBC have introduced this practice.
But it is also claimed that rival broadcaster will not be following the BBC’s lead for the World Cup.
Pundits are said to have been told that some factors behind the decision is due to cost.
