BBC logoA BBC presenter is alleged to have broken the wrist of one his female colleagues and the corporation tried to cover-up the attack by putting the star on “undesirable” shifts.
Bosses are said to have been made aware of the alleged violent assault but failed to report it to or even take disciplinary action against the high-profile staff member, reports say.

He is thought to have worked for the broadcaster for several years afterwards.
A source told the Mail on Sunday : “He had taken her by the wrists, crossed them over one another and then threw her down to the floor.
“A doctor’s report was filed but nobody did anything about it. It was a cover-up from the BBC”
The corporation has been accused of failing to investigate and take action over previous high-profile stars such as , and DJ .

Both the presenter and the female colleague have since left the broadcaster for reasons not connected to the incident.
MP Greg Stafford told the paper: “We should barely be surprised given the BBC’s record of cover-ups, but it beggars belief that proper action was not taken against this individual at the time this incident was said to have occurred.
“For one person to break another’s wrists is assault and if such an allegation was then made, the should have called in the police.
“However, it would appear that once again, BBC bosses chose to brush a most serious problem under the carpet rather than address it properly.”
It’s thought the incident, where the woman was treated in hospital, happened around 2014.
Bosses at the corporation are thought to have called the member of staff in on several occasions to discuss his alleged workplace behaviour after several artists reported possible evidence of alcohol and drug-taking.
It is also thought he was arrested over an unconnected incident during his tenure at the broadcaster and was released without charge.
However, management took the decision not to sack him and instead gave him what were thought to be “undesirable” shifts in the hope he would decide to leave.
The source added the BBC hoped he would leave of his own accord but said he actually stayed with the broadcaster for years.
They said the BBC was his shield, giving him “credibility”.
Last month, the BBC came under fire after it admitted it knew police had investigated the former 2 DJ Scott Mills for alleged sexual offences in 2017.
No action was taken by the BBC against Mills after cops decided there was not enough evidence to proceed with the case and he was neither arrested nor charged with any offence.
He was this year after it came to light the complainant was under the age of 16 at the time.
The BBC also faced stern criticism over its handling of the affair, and its lack of transparency.
The high-profile news anchor had been paid by the BBC for several months after his arrest on child abuse image charges.
In July 2024, he and he was given a six-month sentence in September that year which was suspended for two years.
Insiders at the BBC say the broadcaster fails to take decisive action against staff accused of serious wrongdoing because it is more concerned with protecting its own reputation.
However, they say, the strategy of “brushing everything under the carpet” has backfired and exposed the corporation to even more criticism when misbehaviour or criminality has been revealed.
Director of programmes for BBC News John McAndrew wrote to the corporation’s employees on Thursday, telling them to avoid sharing “unsubstantiated claims about colleagues without their consent,” the Mail reports.
A spokesperson for the BBC said: “While we do not comment on individual matters, the BBC has robust processes in place to uphold our standards.:
She did confirm the male employee at the centre of the allegations had left the BBC.
The Sun Online has contacted the BBC for further comment.
