Bayern have confirmed that Sven Ulreich suffered a torn muscle in his right adductor during their stalemate with Bayer Leverkusen yesterday.

And that will pave the way for Leonard Prescott, 16, to be given the nod for the last 16 second leg against Atalanta.

The American-born shot-stopper was on the bench for the reverse fixture and at Leverkusen.

But Prescott is now in line to profit from Kompany being left with no senior options between the sticks.

First-choice custodian has been sidelined since picking up a calf strain in Bayern’s win over Borussia Monchengladbach earlier this month.

The former Germany No1 is not expected to be back in contention until after the international break.

And in the final stages of the 6-1 mauling of Atalanta.

Leon Klanac has been out of action with a thigh problem for a number of months.

It means that Prescott is in line to be trusted with a starting role when head to the Allianz Arena looking to pull off a miracle.

Jannis Bartl, 19, is an alternative after being an unused substitute on two occasions this season.

But Prescott is highly rated behind the scenes and appears poised to be given the nod.

Ulreich’s injury was not the only issue to come out of Bayern’s draw with Leverkusen.

Chelsea loanee on Martin Terrier and ex-Liverpool man Luis Diaz was also sent off.
