BARCELONA fans came away excited after watching Anthony Gordon in their colours for the first time.

The winger made his maiden outing for his new club over the weekend following his blockbuster .

, 25, lined up on the left as took on Swiss side FC Basel at St. Jakob-Park.

The former Toon star was part of an attacking unit also including Fermin Lopez, and fellow new recruit .

And there were moments of promise as he ran at his full-back down the flank.

Commenting on Gordon’s performance, one Barca fan wrote on X: “We hope he keeps up this performance and continues to deliver like this”.

And a second gushed: “Trust me.. Gordon will be the reason we win 2 UCLs before the end of this decade.”

A third swooned: “Could have easily gotten two goals from his play. He is direct and fits in perfectly with the sort of energy Flick wants, the depth, the varying attacking options we now have.”

Another added: “His low crosses are actually lethal man”.

Gordon got 45 minutes under his belt before being replaced by teenager Hamza Abdelkarim.

The ex-Everton ace has replaced international team-mate at Barca.

Rashford, 28, scored eight goals in 32 LaLiga appearances on loan last season but has now returned to – making his during Saturday’s 4-2 defeat to AC Milan.

Barcelona will play their final pre-season friendly on Wednesday as they take on Egyptian side Al Ahly.

Flick’s men then begin their LaLiga campaign at Elche on Sunday.
