Full Ballon d’Or results show how close Lamine Yamal came to beating Ousmane Dembele after dad’s ‘strange’ claim

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN star Ousmane Dembele won the Men’s Ballon d’Or by a significant margin compared to Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal.

Dembele, 28, after a stunning 2024-25 season that saw him leading PSG to four trophies with a staggering total of 35 goals and 16 assists in 53 appearances.

Following , the results of the polls have been revealed and it is evident he won by quite a lot.

According to France Football, the France international picked up 1,380 points and thus had a 321-point lead over , 18, who came second on 1,059.

That is quite a difference to that saw Manchester City ace Rodri beating Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr by a mere 41 points.

This comes after some fiery statements from Yamal’s father Mounir Nasraoui after the ceremony.

Nasraoui, seemed to accept the result outside the venue in Paris as he told the media, “next year it will be ours”.

But Yamal’s dad appears to have changed his tune with some recent comments suggesting his son suffered an injustice.

Nasraoui told Chiringuito : “I wouldn’t say [it was a] robbery, but a moral prejudice to a human being because I think Lamine Yamal is the best player in the world by far, by very far.

“It isn’t because he is my son that he is the best player in the world; he doesn’t have a rival. It’s Lamine Yamal. Something very strange happened here.”

The points tally took place after a 30-man shortlist was drawn up before the ceremony.

Then a total of 100 journalists from each of the highest-ranked FIFA nations voted, with each reporter naming their top-10 choices.

The votes were then converted into points, with a first-place selection earning 15 points and the following positions counting for 12, 10, eight, seven, five, four, three, two and one respectively.

Then the total score is added up to rank each and every one of the 30 nominees.

was joined by three PSG team-mates in the top 10 with Vitinha third (703), Achraf Hakimi sixth (484) and Nuno Mendes 10th (171).

The Frenchman’s former teammate at Parc des Princes Gianluigi Donnarumma, who played a huge role in Luis Enrique’s squad last term before leaving for Man City, finished ninth with 172 points.

Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah and Barcelona star Raphinha completed the top five with 657 and 620 points respectively.

Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe, who spent seven years at PSG, was seventh with 378 points.

And Chelsea’s Cole Palmer made it to eighth place with a total of 211 points.
