Brand is facing trial on three counts of rape, three of sexual assault and one of indecent assault against six women from 1999 to 2009.

He denies all the charges against him.

At one point, Piers quizzed Brand about his decision to bring a bible with him for his hearing in February.

He had taken the religious text to Southwark Crown and started reading it – but it was later confiscated by the dock officer.

During last night’s interview, Piers asks the one-time Hollywood star if the bible he brought with him on the show is the same one he took to court.

After Brand confirms it is, the Uncensored host asks: “What was your thinking in taking it into court?

“You were seen looking at some passages… what were the relevant passages for you?”

The duo are then plunged into a painful 90-second silence as Brand flicks through pages in his bible.

Piers watches on and occasionally looks up at the camera throughout the awkward exchange.

Brand also said he would face being behind bars “with God” if he was found guilty of the charges against him.

The comedian was asked if he thought about going to prison if he was found guilty, to which he replied: “Yes… all the time, every day.”

“I will be with God wherever I am. And of course, I would prefer to be with God with my wife and my kids…

“I’m not saying that that’s not a difficult image, you know, and a difficult thing to contemplate, of course it is.”

And during an earlier interview on The Show podcast this week, he admitted when he was 30.

Brand said that his relationships at the time were “exploitative” – but stressed his sex with the girl was legal.

Brand said: “In Europe and in the United Kingdom where I’m from, the age of consent is 16. And I did sleep with a 16-year-old when I was 30.

“But when I was 30, I was a very different person. I was a lot younger and I was an immature 30-year-old.”

Brand also told host Megyn Kelly his past relationships were “selfish”.

He continued: “I did not apply enough consideration barely any I suppose really to how that sex was affecting other people.”

The Met launched a probe into the TV presenter in September 2023.

It followed a Sunday Times and Channel 4’s Dispatches investigation into allegations over his treatment of women.

Following the charge, Brand told his 11.3million X followers that he was “”.

He added: “I’ve always told you guys that when I was young and single, before I had a wife and family… I was a fool, man.

“I was a fool before I lived in the light of the Lord… I have never engaged in non consensual activity, I pray you can see that by looking in my eyes.”

Brand, who was previously married to pop star , shares three children with his wife, Laura Gallacher.

At the height of his fame, the actor starred in a number of films, including Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him to the Greek.

His trial at Southwark Crown Court is due to start on October 12.
