ASDA has urgently recalled a dinner item over fears it may contain pieces of metal or plastic.
Customers who have purchased the £3.50 fishcakes have been warned “do not eat”.
Certain batches of the Exceptional by Asda Beer Battered Cod Fishcakes have been recalled
Asda has issued a recall of its Exceptional by Asda Beer Battered Cod Fishcakes, with the following use by dates affected: 01 May 2026 02 May 2026 03 May 2026 04 May 2026 05 May 2026.
All 290g packs with the above dates and barcode 506308998296 are included in the recall.
A point of sales notice displayed in all Asda outlets outlined “the possible presence of plastic of metal foreign body contamination” across the impacted batches.
It advised: “If you have purchased Exceptional by Asda Beer Battered Fishcakes with the above use by dates, please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund.”
Shoppers do not need a receipt and should contact Asda Customer Relations by phoning 0330 053 0111 if they have any further concerns.
The supermarket assured customers that Asda “no other use by dates are affected” by the recall.
“We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused,” the retailer said.
