However, the North Londoners managed to secure all three points thanks to two own-goals.

Bukayo Saka caused the first own-goal in the 70th minute with a brilliant corner-kick that struck the visitors’ right-hand post before ricocheting off Sam Johnstone’s back.

Wolves thought they had clinched a point in the 90th minute when Tolu Arokodare scored with a header from a cross by 18-year-old Mateus Mane.

But Gabriel Jesus, returning to the Premier League after 11 months, met a cross from Saka and headed the ball, which deflected off Yerson Mosquera in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

But who stood out? SunSport evaluates each of Mikel Arteta’s players against Wolves:

Player Ratings

David Raya – 6

Expected a quiet evening. David Raya had to stay alert to make a crucial save against the only shot on target in the first half as Hwang Hee-Chan broke away one-on-one, diving low to his right to deny the South Korean. However, he was left watching when Wolves scored an unexpected late equalizer.

Ben White – 6

Made several strong runs down the right and linked up well with Bukayo Saka. For a tall player, he displayed a delicate touch, but his return from injury was cut short after just half an hour, necessitating a substitution for Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Jurrien Timber – 6

His speed proved beneficial, especially when he managed to pressure Hwang during a one-on-one with Raya, preventing a potentially embarrassing deficit. Though not the usual partner for William Saliba, he developed a reasonable understanding.

William Saliba – 6

A bit rusty after missing four games, but it was a good match for him to return against the league's weakest team. Everyone at the club will breathe a sigh of relief to see him complete 90 minutes without injury.

Piero Hincapie – 5

Benefiting from a run in the squad due to Gabriel Magalhaes' injury and Riccardo Calafiori's suspension. Made a great recovery to block a shot from Jorgen Strand Larsen in first-half stoppage time, but was outjumped for Wolves’ goal in added time.

Martin Zubimendi – 5

Seemed off the pace while trying to assist in the transition from midfield to attack, resulting in several misplaced forward passes. No surprise he was substituted early in the second half.

Declan Rice – 6

Started slowly on his return from injury and could have done better after 17 minutes when he met Saka’s cross with a downward header. He increased his intensity after the break and forced two excellent saves from distance.
