GOALKEEPERS are renowned for their reliable hands, but one former Arsenal goalkeeper has misplaced his FA Cup winners’ medal.
He claimed the prestigious trophy in 2020 when Arsenal made a comeback to defeat Chelsea 2-1 at the conclusion of Arteta’s first season as manager.

Chelsea initially took the lead with a goal from Christian Pulisic, but a double from captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang secured a remarkable turnaround.
Matt Macey, who currently plays for League Two team Colchester, was on the bench as Emi Martinez’s backup during Arsenal's victorious day.
In a recent interview, he disclosed that he is unsure of the location of his winners’ medal.
Macey, 31, stated: “My medal is somewhere, but I don't actually know where it is. It's nice to have, but I don't boast about it.”
“I haven't really talked about it, to be honest. It's a wonderful memento, but in terms of my career, it isn't my top achievement.”
“It was a fantastic moment, and it's nice to have it on my CV, but I didn’t play any minutes in the tournament, and due to Covid, there were no fans present.”
Macey benefited after Bernd Leno suffered a ligament injury against Brighton in June 2020, which sidelined him for the remainder of the 2019/20 season, which had already been disrupted by the Covid pandemic.
Argentina's winning goalkeeper Martinez performed admirably in Leno’s absence, and Macey was prepared to step in if needed.
However, sitting on the bench was the extent of his involvement, as he did not make an appearance during that time.
Macey reflected: “My memories of that period include feeling fortunate that we could train and play, providing some joy to people during a difficult year. We didn’t get to celebrate with the fans, which would have been incredible.”
The Colchester goalkeeper spent seven years at Arsenal but only made two appearances in the 2017/18 season.
One of those was a 2-1 victory over Norwich in the EFL Cup, and he kept a clean sheet in Arsenal’s goalless draw against Red Star in the Europa League.
Somewhat of an EFL journeyman, Macey was loaned out to Accrington, Luton, and Plymouth during his time at Arsenal before joining Hibernian in January 2021.
A return to Luton and a brief stint at Portsmouth followed, but he has been with Colchester since last May.
Macey played over the weekend for the U’s, who lost 3-2 at home to MK Dons in the first round.
Colchester's next match is on Saturday at home against Bromley, with a kick-off at 12:30 PM.
