EAGLE-EYED fans clocked that something was not quite right about Arsenal’s birthday message to Ethan Nwaneri.

paid tribute to their young star on Friday morning with the message “HAPPY BIRTHDAY ETHAN NWANERI” written alongside a picture of the teenager in his Arsenal kit.

They added the caption : “Have a fantastic day, Ethan!” And a birthday cake emoji was thrown in for good measure.

But there is just one problem.

Arsenal appear to have jumped the gun as Nwaneri does not turn 19 until Saturday.

Every major website – including Arsenal’s own – lists Nwaneri’s special day as March 21.

And that fact was not lost on the users who pointed out the club’s mistake.

One quoted last year’s happy birthday message from March 21 and wrote: “Why is his birthday different this year?”

Another put: “Admin you rush too much. His birthday is on the 21st.”

A third posted: “Is it today, though?”

And a fourth chimed in with: “Tomorrow is Ethan Nwaneri’s birthday!!! @Arsenal delete it.”

Nwaneri remains the youngest Arsenal and player ever, having made his debut as a 15-year-old in 2022.

He has been sent on loan to for the second half of this season, although he will have hoped for more than the three starts he has managed so far.

And in his absence, fellow youngster Max Dowman, 16, has stolen the limelight as Arsenal’s leading young prospect.
