Published on May 28, 2025 at 03:59 PM

Real Madrid on Wednesday appointed their former player Alvaro Arbeloa as the new coach of Castilla, starting in the 2025-26 season.

The LaLiga giants made this known in a post on their website on Wednesday.

Arbeloa is a legend at Real Madrid, having played for the Los Blancos for many years in the past.

The 42-year-old came through Real Madrid’s youth ranks back in 2001 as a Juvenil A player.

Arbeloa played 238 games for Real Madrid’s first team from 2009 to 2016.

The Spaniard won one Club World Cup, two European Cups, one European Super Cup, one Spanish Super Cup, one LaLiga title and two Copa del Rey titles at the Santiago Bernabeu.

With the latest appointment, Arbeloa will now replace Raul at Castilla.
