The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Jigawa State says it is fully prepared to reclaim the Jigawa South-West Senatorial seat currently held by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2027 general election.
The state APC Chairman, Ahmad Garba, made this known on Monday shortly after the party concluded its senatorial primaries, where candidates across the three senatorial districts emerged unopposed.
Garba said the party remains united under Governor Umar Namadi and expressed confidence that the APC will secure all elective positions in the state in the next general election.
He attributed the party’s growing strength to ongoing infrastructure development, social welfare programmes, and agricultural interventions being implemented by the state government.
According to him, the turnout of party members and the peaceful conduct of the primaries reflect increasing public confidence in the APC across Jigawa State.
“The people of Jigawa have confidence in our party. The dividends of democracy they are enjoying will not allow them to vote for any other party,” he said.
The APC also affirmed its serving senators for Jigawa North-West and Jigawa North-East, while Engineer Sani Garba emerged as the party’s candidate for Jigawa South-West, the only senatorial district currently controlled by the PDP in the state.
