APC silent on Ganduje’s resignation as National Chairman

Published on June 27, 2025 at 05:00 PM

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has maintained silence over the reported resignation of its National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje.

It was reported that the former Kano State governor has resigned as APC National Chairman with immediate effect.

He was said to have resigned due to health issues, stating that he needed to focus on his well-being.

Ganduje’s resignation was disclosed in an X post by a former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad on Friday.

Ahmad wrote: “The National Chairman of our great party, the All Progressives Congress(APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has resigned from his position, effective immediately, as confirmed by multiple sources.”;

However, DAILY POST’s attempt to get the comments of APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, on the development was unsuccessful as he did not pick his calls. Also, he did not return text messages sent to his mobile number.

Ganduje is said to have resigned after intense pressure from stakeholders within the APC in the North-Central zone.

The North-Central wants the position of the party’s National Chairman returned to the region.

There were also internal opposition to Ganduje’s style of leadership.
