Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has formally enrolled as the number one member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, following the commencement of the party’s nationwide e-registration and revalidation exercise.
The exercise was officially launched in Ihugh, the governor’s hometown, located in Mbadede Ward of Vandeikya Local Government Area.
Speaking to party supporters after receiving his registration slip from the APC State Acting Chairman, Benjamin Omale, Governor Alia urged party members across the state to take advantage of the process by visiting their ward secretariats to revalidate their membership.
He also encouraged interested non-members to register and join the party.
According to him, “in 2023, you demonstrated to the entire world that Benue is APC. You demonstrated through the ballots that you love me and Mr. President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We have both remained faithful to the promises set out in our policy blueprints.”
The governor commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, for initiating the registration drive, describing it as timely and strategic.
He further stressed, “I therefore urge you to come out and use this opportunity to once again demonstrate that you are ready to vote for consolidation.
“My administration will give priority attention to the most registered areas because this is an APC administration.”
Governor Alia also directed council chairmen and APC leaders at the local government level to fully support registration officials and intensify mobilisation efforts to ensure widespread participation in the exercise across the state.
