Public affairs analyst and former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, Dr. Sam Amadi, stated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has undermined itself due to its reliance on the financial influence of former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
Amadi shared this opinion in a post on X on Tuesday, expressing that he does not hold Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah responsible for his switch from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This comment follows Mbah's formal announcement of his departure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the ruling APC.
According to DAILY POST, Mbah made this announcement during a state-wide broadcast, stating that the decision was made to strengthen the connection between the South-Eastern state and the central government.
Despite this, Amadi remarked that the APC is currently the most organized and sensible political party in Nigeria, although he criticized its presidential candidate as “poor.”
He also mentioned that Labour Party’s Peter Obi is the most qualified individual to rescue Nigeria but raised concerns about which political platform he would now align with.
He stated: “I do not hold Peter Mbah accountable for leaving @OfficialPDPNig for the @OfficialAPCNg. The PDP has brought about its own downfall through its affinity for Wike’s financial support.
“The APC is the best organized and most rational party. However, it does have a subpar presidential candidate. @PeterObi is indeed the most capable individual to save Nigeria at this moment. But which party will he now choose?”
