The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that it will start selling nomination forms for the 2027 general election on April 25.

On Monday, the ruling party shared its plan and schedule for the upcoming elections next year.

They set the cost for nomination forms and expression of interest forms for presidential candidates at N70 million and N30 million each.

APC’s deputy National Publicity Secretary, spoke on Thursday after the 186th meeting of the national working committee (NWC) of the party.

Meseko mentioned that the development is included in the party’s updated schedule and plan of activities, which has been shared with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He mentioned that the sale of forms will take place from April 25 to May 2, and noted that the deadline for submitting them is May 4.

Meseko said that the screening of candidates running for legislative and governorship positions will happen from May 6 to May 8, and the screening of presidential aspirants will take place on May 9.

He noted that the primary elections for the House of Representatives will take place on May 15, then the Senate primaries will be on May 18, and the State Assembly primaries will be on May 20.

He said that the governorship primaries are set for May 21, and the presidential primaries will take place on May 23.

The APC spokesperson rejected claims that nomination forms would be limited to specific people.

“This method serves as a means for aspirants seeking offices under the APC are open. Forms are available for every member who is running in the election. This method has no limitations or restrictions.

“This method serves as a hybrid model combining direct and consensus primaries, with the consensus option requiring agreement from all aspirants,” he said.

Meseko said that when there is agreement and an aspirant disagrees, it automatically goes back to direct primaries,” he said.
