The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Appeal Panel for the Ekiti delegate congress, Dr. Dennis Otiotio, has commended the peaceful and transparent execution of the exercise conducted across the state.
While speaking at the party’s state secretariat in Ado-Ekiti, Otiotio, who also holds the position of APC Chairman in Bayelsa State, noted that the panel did not receive any petitions or complaints from any of the 16 local government areas following the congress.
“As part of the electoral process, the party established a five-member appeal panel to address complaints from dissatisfied members regarding the conduct of the delegate congress,” Otiotio elaborated.
He mentioned that a public notice had been issued and distributed to all local government secretariats, inviting members with concerns to submit their petitions between 6:00 PM on the day of the congress and 6:00 AM the following day.
“By 10:00 AM, we were prepared to review any petitions; however, fortunately, none were submitted,” he remarked.
“This reflects the transparent manner in which the delegate congresses were conducted. We commend the committee responsible for managing the process for their excellent work.”
Otiotio further acknowledged the leadership of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, attributing the unity and peaceful environment within the party to his inclusive governance approach.
“It is clear that the governor’s remarkable leadership qualities have nurtured harmony within the party.
The consensus achieved across all wards illustrates the level of collaboration among members,” he stated.
He expressed confidence that the APC would excel in the upcoming general elections.
Otiotio also expressed gratitude to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party for the trust placed in the appeal panel.
In his remarks, the Ekiti State APC Chairman, Mr. Olusola Eleshin, confirmed that the delegate congress was conducted smoothly and without any form of malpractice.
“I am pleased to inform you that the election proceeded without any issues across the state, and we have not received any reports of irregularities; no committee member is facing sanctions,” Eleshin stated.
He praised the electoral committee for their diligence and transparency, expressing optimism that the appeal panel would find no grounds for contestation.
