CARL FROCH has asserted that Oleksandr Usyk employed clever tactics to deceive Anthony Joshua into accepting a match against him.
Usyk defeated the Brit in consecutive bouts to become the world champion, but only after a challenging fight in 2020.

Chisora narrowly missed victory due to a close points decision, which subsequently granted the Ukrainian fighter an opportunity to compete for the title.
This occurred despite doubts surrounding Usyk’s capacity to compete effectively at the heavyweight level.
Two years later, Usyk triumphed over Joshua twice, leading Froch to believe that the former cruiserweight champion had outsmarted his opponent.
He mentioned on his YouTube channel: “That night against Chisora, he was patient. He played mind games with his opponents.
“He was aware that Joshua was watching and thought to himself, ‘If I reveal all my skills in this first heavyweight fight, I might intimidate him.’
“So I believe he never pushed himself against Chisora. I’m not undermining Chisora.
“Chisora will fight anyone; he has lost more than he has won at the world title level, but he always puts up a tough fight, and he certainly made it difficult for Usyk.
“However, I think Usyk took his time, relied on his jab, moved around, and didn't really push himself beyond second gear, certainly not reaching third gear, and secured a comfortable win by points.
“I think Joshua saw that and thought, ‘I can defeat this guy; he’s struggling at heavyweight.’
“Ultimately, Joshua accepted the fight, and Usyk outclassed him, becoming the unified champion.”
Joshua, 36, is set to return to the ring this week as he prepares to face a YouTuber-turned-boxer in Miami.
The highly anticipated bout will occur in the early hours of Saturday morning for audiences in the UK and will be streamed on Netflix.
AJ has openly acknowledged that the fight is a financial opportunity, with earnings potentially reaching up to £100 million.
In a discussion face to face with Paul for his Most Valuable Promotions, Joshua emphasized the significance of maximizing one's worth.
Joshua stated: “It’s everything. Ever since I entered the sport, I recognized the hustle.

“I’m not a YouTuber or a social media guru – I’m a fighter above all.
“However, I learned how to navigate this industry, and from the very beginning, I understood how to generate income.
“Before I entered the sport, I already knew how to earn money.
“So it has always been a financial opportunity, 100 percent.
“Now, I believe this generation is truly demonstrating the need to have your priorities in order, earn your money, work hard, and exit the sport with both your intellect and finances intact. I think that’s crucial.
“So it’s about making money. It’s about legacy. It’s about fighting. It’s about war. That’s what we’re fighting for, to achieve our goals.”
