Ahead of Sunday night’s second eviction, the presenter seemed to be battling an illness.
Ant McPartlin has caused concern with his husky voice
The 50-year-old had a raspy voice as he addressed viewers and needed to cough to clear his throat.
One viewer remarked: “Oh dear, Ant doesn’t sound well at all.”
Another commented: “Oh Ant, it seems like your night out last night was quite enjoyable!”
“What happened to your voice, Ant?” someone else inquired.
“Ant has a raspy voice tonight,” another viewer noted.
“I know he mentioned on #unpacked last night that he has a sore throat.
“Can someone please bring a lozenge to the studio floor?”
Later in the episode, Ant’s co-host Dec Donnelly poked fun at him by saying: “Cough it up, son.”
Ant retorted: “How sympathetic of you! I might just push you over there in a minute.”
The episode started off on a challenging note for campmates during Shona McGarty and Lisa Riley’s first morning as camp leader and deputy.
Eddie was tasked with cooking the rice that morning, having been assigned the duty by Shona and Lisa the previous night.
He confessed to Tom about the new responsibility: “I’m nervous because I live alone. When you’re cooking for yourself, there’s no one to judge.”
Eddie went down to take a shower while the rice was cooking on the fire.
He told the Bush Telegraph: “Breakfast is going well; the rice is nearly done. Ruby and I have got this under control.”
However, it seemed that the camp had other opinions about Eddie’s cooking skills as Kelly detected a burning smell.
Kelly informed the Bush Telegraph: “He made the huge mistake of putting the rice on and then going for a shower. I saw him do it, but I didn’t want to intervene; I have a feeling this morning it’s going to be a little bit crispy!”
As the burnt rice was served for breakfast, the campmates were less than impressed.
Jack joked: “It’s Eddie’s first race, so he’s just warming up to it.”
