Endless sleaze

IT’S becoming increasingly clear why the King was so swift to strip Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor of his royal titles and banish him from the family.

His brother’s toxic relationship with paedophile multi-millionaire gets murkier by the day.

We now learn that in the Far East to his vile pal.

He had been sent there by the Government as an “honoured guest” to help drum up for British firms.

But the then Prince’s first priority seemed to have been to make sure Epstein was in the loop.

He forwarded an email containing four documents to him within just five minutes, barely enough time to read them himself.

The King perhaps hoped his tough action would remove his brother from the public gaze for ever.

But if the latest revelations are anything to go by, we have not heard the last of him yet.

Andrew has lied repeatedly about his links with Epstein and we cannot rely on him to give a full, honest explanation.

It must now be down to the and others to get to the bottom of this shameful saga.

Starmer’s SOS

SIR is fast running out of ideas on how to salvage his sinking ship.

The PM yesterday threw his chief of staff overboard in a desperate bid to deflect blame for the Mandelson scandal.

But in sacrificing Morgan McSweeney, he has lost not only his human shield but his political brain.

Scapegoat McSweeney may have carried the can for persuading Sir Keir to make Epstein pal US ambassador.

But the Government will continue to drift from crisis to crisis with little hope of fixing the nation’s multiple problems.

Defeat in the Gorton and Denton by-election later this month might spell the end for Sir Keir.

Unless to put him out of his misery sooner.

BBC spree

THE BBC’s culture of greed and waste is an insult to TV viewers forced to dig even deeper to fund it.

Just three days after it was announced that the licence fee was being hiked to £180, we learn of more extravagance being showered on the pampered staff.

The Beeb is always pleading poverty and blames lack of cash for ending free licences for 3.7million pensioners.

Yet it was no problem for an employee to while another blew £403 on a taxi for a trip that costs £25 by train.

The Government will soon consider how the is funded after 2027.

It needs to impose dramatic cuts — starting with reducing the licence fee.
