The Chairman of Ado Local Government Area in Benue State, Mr. Oche Sunday Oche, has asserted that the re-election of Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia for a second term in 2027 is unavoidable, citing what he refers to as the governor’s exceptional performance in office.

Speaking in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, Oche stated that the residents of Benue State are pleased with the current administration and are ready to overwhelmingly support Governor Alia’s campaign for re-election in 2027.

He described the governor as a divine blessing to the state, emphasizing that Alia has made significant strides in tackling insecurity, which he indicated has significantly decreased over the past two years of the governor’s tenure.

According to the council chairman, the governor’s impressive record of accomplishments has made him a political powerhouse, noting that this has led to a consistent influx of members from opposition parties joining the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State.

In his own words, “the defectors wouldn’t abandon their former parties if they had not seen promise in the re-election campaign of Governor Hyacinth Alia.”

“The governor’s substantial progress in infrastructure development, timely salary payments, quality healthcare, and other governance areas has motivated political stakeholders in the state to align with him and the ruling party as the race for the 2027 elections intensifies.”

Oche also praised the National Chairman of the APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, along with the Benue State APC Chairman, Mr. Benjamin Omale, for their steadfast support of Governor Alia in promoting the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

He pointed out that the recent decision from the party’s National Working Committee, which recognized governors as leaders of the APC in their respective states, has effectively resolved the leadership disputes that had troubled the Benue chapter of the party.

The Ado council chairman further commended key supporters of the governor, including Dr. Livinus Tsar, Chief Moses Ternenge, and Rt. Hon. Solomon Wombo from the local government areas of Konshisha, Kwande, and Katsina-Ala, respectively, for their unwavering efforts in mobilizing grassroots support for the governor’s 2027 aspirations across all 23 local government areas of the state.

Oche assured that his administration at the local government level would remain dedicated to supporting Governor Alia by ensuring the provision of meaningful democratic benefits to the people of Ado Local Government Area.
