NEWCASTLE legend Alan Shearer has ripped into the team after another dismal second half left his former side beaten by fierce rivals Sunderland.

They now sit 12th, below Sunderland, in the overall table and failed to take advantage of .
That had buoyed things in the Northeast after a promising home display against Barca.
Howe was unable to carry that momentum on at the Nou Camp and Newcastle were made to pay.
