AIR fryers have quickly become one of most popular countertop appliances for their versatility in the kitchen.
With multiple settings, it can be tough to know what’s the best for cooking your food.

Along with the classic air fry option, air fryers typically have a bake, roast, reheat, and broil button.
The Good Housekeeping Institute lab director, Nicole Papantoniou, shared which setting is best for different food items.
Most air fryers have a fan above the cooking basking that works alongside a strong heating element to cook food at different temperatures.
Good Housekeeping found that the bake setting can function mostly like a real oven.
“True ‘bake’ takes place using heating elements on the top and bottom, but air fryers don’t typically have heating elements on the bottom (air fryer toaster ovens do),” said Papantoniou.
Still, when tested, baking a cake in the air fryer came out moist in the center and browned on the top.
They may dry out or brown faster than the baker would like, so keep an eye on it.
Since the air fryer’s fan still circulates while on the bake setting, unlike traditional air frying, it gives a more evenly-cooked result.
Other air fryer settings work well for different kind of food.
Air frying is the most powerful setting.
It’s great for reheating frozen food and small bites.
The roast setting will cook food through before crisping the outsite.
