Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has expressed that he occasionally contemplates leaving football due to the loss of both his parents.

Nwabali shared this during an interview with ACL Sports.

The Chippa United goalkeeper lost his mother just two months after his father's passing.

“My mom passed away around two o’clock today,” he revealed.

“I try to keep a lot of things to myself, to move forward, and to be the strong person I was.”

Nwabali also mentioned that the weight of his grief nearly drove him away from the sport.

He added: “Most of the time, I feel like quitting, you know? I feel like giving up because of my mom and dad, but my mom was especially dear to me.

“It’s truly painful, man. It’s incredibly painful to be talking about my mom today, bro.”
