The President of the Cameroonian Football Federation, Samuel Eto’o, has responded to the Indomitable Lions’ exit from the ongoing AFCON tournament in Morocco.
Eto’o was present at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat when Morocco triumphed over Cameroon with a score of 2-0 in the AFCON quarter-final on Friday.
Brahim Diaz and Ismael Saibari netted the goals for the host nation against Cameroon.
Following the match, Eto’o delivered an impactful and heartfelt speech to the Indomitable Lions players and coaching staff in the locker room after their defeat to the Atlas Lions.
The former Barcelona and Chelsea striker expressed confidence that Cameroon will seek revenge in the next AFCON tournament.
“Seeing you all sad brings tears to my eyes,” Eto’o told the Cameroon players in the dressing room.
“However, you performed like true Cameroonians. I can only feel proud of you. Thank you for all your efforts.
“This is our first victory, believe me, guys. We are coming to win the next AFCON. Hear me well, boys, and start preparing today. We will take our revenge. We did not witness a scandalous group. It is thanks to you as well.”
