Former Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, has highlighted the team's top performance at the ongoing 2025 AFCON in Morocco.

Oliseh made these remarks ahead of Nigeria’s Round of 16 match against the Mambas of Mozambique on Monday night.

So far, the Super Eagles have played three matches in the AFCON. Eric Chelle’s squad secured a 2-1 victory over Tanzania, triumphed 3-2 against Tunisia, and won 3-1 against Uganda.

During his appearance on Global Football Insight, Oliseh expressed that the Super Eagles' match against the Cranes was their best performance in the AFCON in quite some time.

“The Super Eagles must prioritize not conceding goals. In the last game [Nigeria vs Uganda], the Super Eagles performed despite the criticism regarding the Tunisia match and the fact that we didn’t play well against Tanzania, but we managed to win that game,” Oliseh stated.

“The most recent match against Uganda was the best performance I have witnessed from the Super Eagles in a long while.

“The team exhibited excellent organization, effective changes in play, compactness, and successfully neutralized the opponent's threats.”
