The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has officially confirmed investigations into at least two matches at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.

CAF on Monday, warned of possible disciplinary action.

They will be looking into the last-eight fixture between Nigeria and Algeria, where players clashed at full time and the referee was confronted in the tunnel.

CAF is also investigating an incident in another quarter-final clash between Morocco and Cameroon.

Cameroonian players protested angrily over the referee’s refusal to award a penalty in the second half.

“CAF has referred the matters to the disciplinary board for investigation and has called for appropriate action to be taken if the identified persons were to be found guilty of any wrongdoing,” CAF said in a statement.
